Nelia is a fine artist creating worlds using oil paints. Her symbolism art style is derived from her life experiences both from her hometown Albay, Philippines and the UAE where she resides in since 2007. Her paintings have a distinct vignette effect where she put black paint at the sides of the painting specifically on the corners to have a “dream" or "memory” feel. She likes to use cloud effects on the background by dabbing the paint. Whether she is creating realism on canvas or murals on walls, she tries to evoke an emotion and a twist in her visual story. Her subjects explore themes of healing, nature, hope and zest for life . She is also an Architect, which is why she approaches painting in a technical way. Currently, she’s taking a Mastery Program, at Milan Art Institute.
