Winter Love

Winter Love

2024 January

Happy New Year to you my loves! I trust everyone had a wonderful festive season and now back on track in our own little world of reality. January is another chance for a new beginning, completing the projects that were left for granted from last year and resetting for the new year ahead. It is a lovely time in Dubai as the weather seems just perfect. Loads of tourists though, who stayed to watch the grand fireworks. The country seems to always want to compete in the Guinness Book of World Records for the best in everything. I think they won 2 awards for best fireworks this time. As usual, we stayed at home and watched it on TV, but we sure missed the festive crowd. Oh Dubai, the glitz, the glamor, and the parties… You hate it or you love it.

For the first two weeks I have a chance to finish the paintings that were left last year. I wonder what I should do with the ones that don't really work out. We still learn from these failures and it still has its worth. Perhaps cut them and put them in scrapbooks? But what if it turned out really really great? We never know. Art is exciting like that! I am also planning to focus on selling merchandise since I got a business license already. Yey, super excited! I tested the waters and tried selling in Dubizzle (the local OLX) and I sold! I guess Alibaba will be a lifelong business partner from now on. There will be less art exhibitions from now on and more on joining fairs and selling like a proper businesswoman. Hopefully no more striving artist mentality.

I am inviting you to visit this website from time to time as I add new paintings periodically. The prices are not too high and there is free delivery anywhere. The small flowers can be a wonderful gift this Valentines. “A flower that never dies.” The huge paintings are a good conversation piece in your living room too. Please join my mailing list and share with your friends for some art thoughts and colorful surrealisms.

All the best, my dear reader. May you have a good month of new beginnings and a hopeful time for great projects ahead.

Xoxo,

Nellie
