2023 February
Welcome back fellow art lover to this tiny website in Dubai. February is love month, for most people it is just an ordinary day because love appreciation is every day. Love expressed in quantity is quality.
Long time ago, I celebrated Valentines Day by trekking a wooded area, complete with waterfalls and the sea. Very romantic. As I grow older, I realized that romance is just an illusion. Just like the places of my recurring dreams; I search for these places in my waking hours and when I finally find them, they completely disappear. I dreamt about the rivers of Yosemite, the underground city of Cappadocia, the pools of Five Hotel in JVC. And when I’ve seen them in real life the recurring dreams are gone. So, I say, love should be real, not fleeting, does not fade and it should be expressed everyday even in the simplest gestures to our love ones. The layers of kindness and care that have built up are like glazes on an oil painting. It gives Valentines its character. It gives warm feelings that help me in a creative zone.
For many artists romance is an inspiration. Romance do take a lot of emotions. Expressing these emotions and conveying to the viewer is indeed a great feat. Humanity has a way of romanticizing things. Everyone can relate. I am not against drama in art, I admire artists who are brave enough to “create” drama.
I invite you to visit my shop in this website. I make small original paintings that can make great gifts for yourself or a love one. Check from time to time the new works. It costs $160 each and free delivery. Sometimes though there is none available because I would be busy creating large paintings for exhibitions but I still try my best to go outside and paint small canvases. My Revit Architecture course (I go to school for this) is about to finish soon, I will then have plenty of time and head space for what I love most, painting.
Thank you for your continued support in my art by following me on Instagram and Facebook, I try to create a happy atmosphere on social media. Also, there will be more exciting art related features in this blog in the next months to come. Cheers!
Xoxo,
Nelly
